1 Woman Killed in Collision with City Bus and Other Vehicles in Santa Clarita
Marie Davis, 67-years old of Canyon Country, was identified by The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office as the woman who was killed in a multiple-vehicle collision that involved a city bus in Santa Clarita Saturday evening, Nov. 4th. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Sierra highway to find a 3-vehicle collision. According to California Highway Patrol’s preliminary investigation, Davis was stopped at a red light on Golden Valley waiting to make a left. The driver of a pickup came up behind her and didn’t stop.
2 Killed in Fiery Crash in Long Beach
Long Beach police are investigating whether street racing was a factor in a fatal fiery 2-vehicle collision that killed a pair of 19-year old teens on Shoreline Drive late Saturday night, Oct 14th. Long Beach police officers and firefighters responded to reports of a collision with 1 vehicle engulfed in flames around 10:45 p.m. along the 300 block of Shoreline Drive south of Ocean Boulevard, a stretch of road used in the Long Beach Grand Prix. A 2003 Nissan carrying the 2 victims was speeding north on Shoreline Drive when the 19-year old male driver attempted to make a lane change. He lost control and struck the center median, containing a tree and a concrete barrier, before spinning out and collided into an Infinity sedan.
Fiery DUI Crash Kills 3 on 605 Fwy in Whittier
September 26th – A 26-year old off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a deadly multi-vehicle crash that caused 1 vehicle to burst into flames killing a teenage boy and his parents on the 605 Freeway near Pico Rivera late Tuesday night, Sept. 26th. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. on the southbound 605 near the Washington Boulevard exit where at least 3 vehicles were involved in the collision. LAPD authorities confirm that Edgar Omar Verduzco, 26-years old of Santa Ana, was driving a Chevy Camaro at a high rate of speed on the southbound 605 in the carpool lane when he rear-ended 2 vehicles south of Saragossa Street. The impact of Verduzco’s Chevy Camaro caused one vehicle, a Nissan, to catch fire and become fully engulfed in flames, trapping all 3 occupants inside.
1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on 5 Freeway in Arleta
September 15th ─ 1 person is dead while several others were injured in a fiery multiple vehicle collision involving 2 Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies on the 5 Freeway in Arleta, a Sun Valley community early Friday morning. The incident occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. when a broke-down Honda CRV that was stopped in the carpool lane near the transition of the 5 Freeway and 170 Freeway was struck by a Honda Accord that was not able to stop in time. 2 other vehicles, including a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department cruiser, were subsequently involved in the collision. The driver of the Honda CRV had exited the vehicle and attempted to flag other motorists with a flashlight before the initial collision. The Los Angeles County sheriff’s was transporting 2 inmates from the North County Correctional Facility when the vehicle collided with the Honda Accord.
7 Injured in Metro Bus Crash in Downtown LA
August 30th ─ 7 individuals were injured, 2 of whom were listed in serious condition, when a Los Angeles Metropolitan Authority bus collided with a speeding SUV in downtown Los Angeles early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred just after 1:30 a.m. when Los Angeles Police officers responded to a call of a collision between a Metro bus and a vehicle near the intersection of Broadway and Olympic Boulevards. According to authorities, one of the vehicles involved ran a red light, but it is still unclear which vehicle is responsible for the crash. Several bystanders were standing on the sidewalk at the time of the collision, but none were struck by the Metro bus after it jumped the curb and struck a tree and a street light, which fell onto the back of a parked car.
