Police Pursuit Ends in Stolen Car Being Impaled on 605 Fwy in Santa Fe Springs
A man who was being pursued by the Whittier Police Department lost control of his vehicle and crashed on the northbound 605 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs injuring himself and his female passenger early Tuesday morning, Jan. 30th. The incident began in Whittier shortly before 1:30 a.m., when Whittier police received a report, from a witness who was tailing a Honda Civic, of a possible drunk driver. The witness gave officers the Honda Civics license plate. Whittier police Lt. Aaron Ruiz said a check of the license plate revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Ontario. Officers quickly spotted the stolen vehicle in the 7900 block of Gretna Avenue.

Police Pursuit ends in Fiery Fatal Crash along PCH in Malibu
A pedestrian is dead after being struck during a high-speed police chase of a suspected stolen vehicle that resulted in a fiery multi-vehicle collision on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu Wednesday morning Nov. 29th. The incident began around 8:00 a.m. while Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling the east side of Zuma Beach in the 27500 block of Pacific Coast Highway, east of Kanan Dume Road, they spotted a 2014 Mazda 6, which was reported stolen 2 days earlier. The deputies made a U-turn, initiated a traffic stop, and called for backup. The stolen vehicle pulled over and a female passenger exited at which point the 22-year old suspect sped away at a high rate of speed and a pursuit ensued. The woman was taken into custody for questioning, according to an LAPD spokesman said. The on-field supervisor canceled the brief 20 second pursuit, because it was too dangerous based on the high rate of speed and the erratic driving of the suspect.

2 suspects have been detained by the Torrance Police Department for their connection with a 5-vehicle hit-and-run crash that killed 1 man and left another hospitalized with major injuries in Torrance Tuesday morning, Nov. 14th. The crash was reported to Torrance police around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Hawthorne Boulevard and Del Amo Boulevard. According to TPD preliminary investigation, a 2004 Chevy SUV was driving recklessly southbound on Hawthorne Boulevard at a high rate of speed. As it approached the intersection at Del Amo Boulevard the Chevy SUV sideswiped another vehicle before the driver lost control and careening over the center divider into the northbound lanes. 2 vehicles heading northbound crashed into the Chevy SUV causing it to roll over.
