United States’ Food and Drug Administration has used the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) to close down a nut processing factory that produces nut items like peanut butter. In September the factory was forced to recall large batches of its peanut butter after various consumers were found to have contracted Salmonella from them, most of it was due from the factory’s unsanitary conditions and their mishandling of the nuts.

Rubber bullets, bean bags, pepper balls, sticks, rocks, bottles and random objects have been exchanged between officials and protesters in Anaheim over the last few days after an Anaheim police officer allegedly shot a known gang member twice and killed him. The death remains under investigation, but for the time being, riots have erupted, businesses have been vandalized, and a law suit for $50 million has been sparked a federal investigation.
