H1 Crashes into Auto Repair Shop
Banning auto repair shop managers and employees are scrambling to discover the fate of their shop after a white Hummer H1 crashed into it Tuesday night. One person was hospitalized and remained in an undisclosed condition.
Sitting in rambles, the corner roof overhang of the Banning Driveline Service shop on the 1500 block of East Ramsey Street that was resting on the roof of an H1 was being investigated by authorities. Marcus Lloyd, the driver of the vehicle was being rushed to the hospital and is suspected for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The whole building shook and interrupted the routine of one person that was going about their usual auto shop tasks inside the business.
Lloyd had lost control of the large SUV model which is known to be used by the military for its off-road terrain capabilities and sturdiness, in the city it is known as a “gas-guzzler”. It had swerved towards the front section of the business against the driver’s will and crashed with the driver’s side of the vehicle. It knocked out a corner pillar of the building in the process.
Rattled and apparently unhurt, the person went outside of the building to inspect what had happened. From the front of the SUV it would have been hard to tell it had crashed because it looked largely unscathed except for the driver’s side door. Lloyd was inside the H1, which had replaced the corner pillar while the overhang of the building defeated, rested on top of the SUV.
Debris of building lay around the H1 when authorities arrived. According to PE, Lloyd 34-years of age from Banning, was at a local hospital being treated for unspecified injuries. Authorities suspect that Lloyd was driving under the influence of alcohol.
City Code Enforcers were at the site of the crash assessing the building’s safety. They ordered the business to remain closed until they have determined the structural integrity of the auto shop. If the building is not safe, it will have to remain closed until it is repaired and reevaluated.
Traffic heading east on Ramsey Street was rerouted while authorities investigated the crash and collected evidence.
